PARISH OF THE HOLY SACRIFICE — Parish priest Fr. Henry Ferreras celebrated on Palm Sunday, March 25, his 28th sacerdotal anniversary with a benefit dinner for Casa de Silencio.

“This event is not for me, because my anniversary is just the vehicle for Casa de Silencio… and this is the best way of self-giving, of offering myself…,” Fr. Ferreras said in an interview with Handuhay.

Held at the University Hotel, the dinner was graced with the presence of Most. Rev. Honesto Ongtioco of the Diocese of Cubao.

Bishop Ongtioco has recently launched a campaign for parishioners and devotees to help build Casa de Silencio, the first-ever retirement house for priests in Quezon City and a retreat center for lay and the religious.

Some 240 attendees came to the benefit dinner. These included members of the PHS Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), Ministry officers and members, and distinguished guests and friends from nearby parishes.

“Kami po’y natutuwa dahil sa pagdating po ninyo. Hindi po namin inaasahan na ang dami po palang darating hindi lamang sa parokyang ito, kundi galing pa po sa ibang mga parokya,” Br. Nathaniel Diola, PPC coordinator, said in his opening remarks.

(We are feeling glad because you all came. We were not expecting such a number of attendees not only from our parish but also from other parishes.)
